Run Round Singapore 2005

In conjunction with NTU 50th Anniversary celebration, the University will be organizing a 168 km "Run Round Singapore" event from 1st to 2nd Oct 2005. The overall distance of the run is equivalent to four times full-marathon, the first ever to be organized in Singapore. This big-scale non-competitive mass event also aims to achieve record-setting results by completing the full distance within the targeted timing of 30 hours.

8 runners representing the NTU community will be participating in the 168km run. They include 4 alumni from NTU and its predecessor institutions, namely Nanyang University, Nanyang Technological Institute(NTI), Teachers Training College(TTC)/Institute of Education(IE)/National Institute Education(NIE), together with 2 staff and 2 student representatives from NTU. This significantly showcases the various developmental phases of the University since 1955. It is estimated that more than 5000 people will take part in this event through which we hope to build the bridge to "ConnectNanyang" to the nation.

I will be part of the runners starting at Stage 1 at NTU(Old Admin Building) and hopefully reach the target 25 stage(end of Hougang Ave 7 turning towards Tampines Road) which is near my home around 10pm. Total Distance estimated to be around 85km. Yes, it will be the longest i ever run if i can make it. I will try - may the body and mind of this body are up to the task.
