The group of runners coming for Sgrunners events have been increasing. Today we have about 40 runners doing the Boi Boi and Ger Ger Run.
I was at MR today around 6:30am as my training run with Mt KK team start at 6:45am. Before we leave, we saw quite a few Sgrunners there. Got to know a few new faces as well.
Today we run 20km, MR 25 progressive 20km route. DO and Dreamrunner are leadings us for the run. This is my first time going for this route. Alvo and another friend(Ronnie) of Divey join us for the run.
We start off pretty well, going towards Northen road to SICC. Instead of turning left going towards Ranger station(10.5km router), we hit straight to Lower Pierce reservoir. That is a long climb up the small hill. I feel good going up the hill. We skip around the golf course and run on the fringe of the reservoir(almost dropping in for a swim) and proceed towards lower pierce. We reach there around 40mins. Roland and Sabrina found the run a bit too tiring or they are not feeling well and decided to run back to MR, whereas the rest of us including Xavier, Timothy, Yee Shen, David, Anthony, Alvin, Ronnie and Ronnie(Davy fr) pushed on.
First time running the "air-con" road, very interestingly the route is very cooling, as though you are in miniature Genting Highland. I enjoy running that path towards the Reservior(control station). We headed towards thomson Roti Prata shop or rather lower pierce(cpt 7) and make a U-turn back to Lower Pierce toilet. We reach cpt 7 around 1:05hrs. The slopes there abit tough, maybe due to fatigue. Anyway it is good training. I think i will run there more often in the future.
We took a break before we make the journey back across the golf course with 2 bloody hills to conquer. Slowly we overcome those hills, plus ducking the flying golf balls(there is an instance whereby the ball land about 20 meters from us) and head towards the Ranger station. There are alot of ppl going up the hilltop today as we took a drink at the Ranger station.
It has been a few months where there was a landslide and the road have to be closed. It is still closed. We bashed through following the trial that have been cleared by someone. Apparently someone couldnt wait for the authority to clear the debris. Mechiam like adventure race or army bashing.
This part onwards, we are heading straight back to "based camp", no more fooling around. I was tired, but i pressed on until after the golf course. I decide to walk up the slope and take my time to complete the run.
Glad to see the 2.4km "playground" knowing i am on the last leg of the run. I sprain my left ankle during this part. I guess when you are tired, you are more easily kena injury. It is a light sprain i think and i am still able to continue. I did run/walk back to the start point of the zig-zag bridge. Not seeing any teammates around, i proceed to run back to a congested MR toilet area in 2:25 hrs Yeah....with 1/2 of it belongs to Sgrunners
We rested and did our stretching to cool down. I gulp down 2 bottles of H2O drinks. Cold Isotonic drinks are Shiok
We chit chat with everybody and take group photos. Later on, some proceed to Adam road for makan, whereas i have to head home.
Rave on !
