Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Trail

Part of MR25 TT cut into Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Trail. I have heard of the trail many years ago but have no interest to venture into that area as I am not a bike enthusiast.

I was busy updating the blog in the morning that it dawn upon me that my kneecap wasn't painful anymore! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Hehe. Aiyoh, quite late leow, what option do I have? Hmm, go back to gym? Possibility. At the end, i decide to head over to Bukit Timah Mountain Bike to reece the MR 25 route. I expect it to be 2.5km route, in and return the same path. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Reached rifle range road around 1:30pm+, after recee the area, decide to park along the road side at Mayfair park, where a few cars have did the same. It is about couple of hunderds meter away from the entrance to the bike trail.

It was a hot day! I jog a couple hundreds of meter to the start of the trail, took some pictures and I am wet!

I am not familiar with the road inside. Therefore decide to use the stopwatch as a guage of the distance covered. I was informed the U turn point is on top of the concrete pipe! Shouldn't be difficult to find if i follow the path, i thought.

The trail is very narrow inside! Wild grass was everywhere. The rattle sound of animals hidden some bushes are very real. The moving grass that seems to be swaying with the rattled sound, make the place a bit errie, especially if you are alone. I saw taking photo as i go along and i spotted igauna in the middle of my way! Scare me a little bit....hehe....

The road condition is pretty the same as inside MR, some part are muddy, some part have tarmac, some slopes here and there. It is very shady with high canopy around. It is ideal place for hiker! I meet mountain bikes folks, hikers and even runner! At least i know i am not the only crazy one in this part of the woods!

I reached the concrete pipe around 12 mins +. I am not running fast inside the trail and i do not expect 2.5km to be that "short". Maybe there is another path somewhere, but i need someone to confirm the path i took is correct.

I was drenched and i can feel my socks are wet as well! OMG, so fast? Maybe it is because i am wearing my trail shoe that is the reason! I rest at the pipe for about 5 mins soaking inside the surronding. I wanted to venture forward and make a big loop back, but i am not familiar with the route and distance, no need to take extra risk. Next time, i shall be back! It seems that the loop(trail) is 10km long.

I backtrack and finished the run in another 12 mins + to the entrance.

It is a good reece trip. I enjoy the run! Must do the full route next time...Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
