First Century

First Century

Openwater swim is on Sunday(tomorrow) and thus i have to choose between LSD run/bike on saturday(today). As much as i will like to join the rest of the toos for their weekly run together, i have to forgo the run, as the bike LSD is too important for me to miss nowadays. The clock is ticking and i haven't cross over my first century on the bike yet!

Had a wonderful carbo loading aka dinner with sweetheart family in downtown orchard. I have not taken such wonderful and sinful dinner for a long time. The food spread is "rich". Each have a lobster on its own! Can you imagine what the bill will come out? Fortunately with a super VIP discount card, at the end we foot about $38 per pax. I didn't tried at least 1 round of all the food that is on the buffet table. Maybe i am still full from the lunch with Agnes.

Slept at 11:00pm. I don't think i sleep well and awoke at 12:30am. A bit blur, but have to move on. Fortunately yesterday event, packed all the stuffs and today is just wash up/changed and move out with the bike.

Pick up Tham Jiak Too at 1:20am. Reached Changi Carpark 2 at 1:50am. Bike out 2:10am.

It is OTOT for us as we do the loop along coastal road. The intent is to complete the bike before 7:30am and complete 100km.

There is occasional car/lorry on the road, very quiet and pretty safe to cycle apart from being dark along certain short stretch.

I was feeling good and try to pace myself throughout the session. Don't pia! This is LSD, distance is the objective. Average speed i am going is at 21-22km/hr. It is very slow, but it seem i am sort of stuck at this level! :p Until i meet up with stray dogs along the "fire station" stretch that chase after me! It is until 3 laps onwards that they suddenly appear from nowhere. I think they are out to chase people for fun and not to harm us. It give me a fright and have to go for a short burst! KNS, not that i don't mind,at least wake me up from my monotonous ride. I burst to 32.3km/hr according to the speedometer on one occassion. Haha.

I manage to maintain a very constant 5 loops this morning. From Carpark 2 to "fire station" is 15mins, from there to the end of coastal road is 12mins. 54 mins per loop.

Total bike time is 4:31hr, total duration(include breaks) is 4:35hr. Total distance 100.64km

There is very little break time as every 2 loops i take a breather.

I experience some back ache during the ride, apart from there, not much to be alarm of. Need to do more workout on the back leow!

I can still go on for another loop i feel, anyway the objective is to cross over 100km which i did. Next time without time pressure(rather give myself more time allowance) i should clock more distance!

Meet up with the rest of the toos at carpark 2, Ba Kwa, Seo too, too tao, babyboy too, piglet and Yankee(what too is this!) We have a good chat/drink and everyone seem so fresh and strong at this point.

After the too make their journey back, we went for a quick wash up and headed home. Prior to that saw them along Coastal road and stop by the side and offer additional water point! The demoralising road is very tough on the mind, can see everyone is struggling on the way back. The relieve on their face when they saw me offering water point is precious. Hehe.

Thanks to Thiam Jiak for accommodating to this crazy too on his unearthly morning! Drag her out from her precious bed! I manage to cross the century mark today. Big Thanks.
