Tokyo - Peak

3 weekends from Toyko Marathon. It is suppose to be peak time, when you speak about training. After last week GE Pacesetter 30km, plus the "slow" timing over the last few days, i know it is going to be a challenge for the extra long LSD this weekend. It does not help when i felt my calves cramping up last evening on both legs.

Apart from the regulars kaki, i have invited a few more runners taking part in Toyko Marathon, plus a few special guests(i want my ice-cream!) to join us for 36km.

Suppose to start the run at 5:15am from ECP F2, someone hor late and ended up we started off at 5:30am! Damn it! We have 14km to cover in 1:30hr! Stardust and roadrunner leading the charge in front, Fennel chasing closely behind! Regina, Kwang Heng, Yankee, Terence and myself a distance behind. Joanna and Evangeline lag a distance back. Burnz and Raven sweeping last.

It was a pretty good pace this morning. Feel a bit chuan. In no time the front 3 runners have gone out of sight. We took a couple of tactical breaks and reached Changi Point carpark 1 in 1:35hr. Target is to meet the folks doing Sundown training.

Turnout for the event wasn't great this morning, Sukami, Kelly, Passion, Wend88 and another runner are there. Later Brokie and hubby catch up along the way.

I was tired on the run back to ECP. I know it is going to be a long run when i started from Changi Point. It is not the breathing, but rather the calves are aching pretty bad. Legs are pretty heavy. Fortunately Regina and myself run together, chit chatting, with multiple walk break, we manage to finish the run together.

Suppose to run with Passion, her last LSD before leaving for US. Alas, she was way in front and i couldn't catch up! :( Meet up with Wee again along coastal road. Fortunately Brokie is around, so ask her to run with him...hehe...:p

Was glad to reach F2 carpark. We stopped at 28km. Given the body condition, no point doing 36km. Rest to run another day! :p

Not a good run, body is tired. I know this would happen, given the body condition. I have to tone down and get more rest for coming week.

Head over to Kovan for breakfast.
