Sundown Recee

Together with burnz on our Ironhorse, we left carpark C4 around 6:30am on our mission to check out the route for Sundown.

After going through an impromptu scan of the maps and route from Blur Pig, + a commando instinct + an AI legendary topo king. We head over to Siglap connector without any maps or whatever. Ok, we have our signal set, $ and water bottle along in case we need to ....well...we need to fill up our stomach don't we! :p

Actual Sundown route start from Changi Village - Changi Coast Road - ECP - Big Splash(U turn) - Siglap Park connector - Bedok Reservior - Tampines Ave 10 - Tampines Ave 9 - Pasir Ris Drive 3 - Loyang Ave - Netheravon Road - Changi Village

Hmm...the map i read from Blur Pig is slightly different, between Tampines Ave 10 and 9....*rolleyes*

Anyway from Carpark c4, we head towards Kembangan MRT. We have to cross a few traffic lights and 1 overhead bridge. Apart from the sole bridge, not much challenge.

From Kembangan MRT to Bedok Reservoir we have to cross 1 overhead bridge and meet up about quite a few humps. These humps are going to be a challenge.

Pretty flat along Tampines Ave 10. We didn't proceed to Ave 9 as per map. Instead we wonder off to Loyang Water Venture(PA). The map on blur pig say so! Heng, we are not running towards Loyang Water Venture, as it is slightly incline in some part of the run. Hehe...no idea whether Tampines Ave 9 have challenges or not, anyway, i don't think so...or rather ignorance is bliss isn't? :)

We are a bit confuse at loyang(Pasir Ris), it took us some orientation when we make our way towards Pasir Ris Drive 3. Wow, the humps are "shiok". A long few hundreds meter of slight incline await those weak limps.

If the incline of Pasir Ris Drive 3 is not sufficient, the other 1-200 meters of incline on Loyang Ave will definitely take some of your enthusiasm away. We make a small detour to peep at the new location of Loyang Tao Pek Kong before heading towards the Changi Village.

Before the end, we have to turn towards commando jetty. The route is abit bumpy until we reached Changi Village.

We stop for Nasi Lemak at Changi Village...:p Well, have to use the $ right, no point carry so long and not utilise it!

It starts to downpour when we head out of Changi Village towards Coastal road. Damn it! We have to take shelter at Carpark 2. A few mins later, it is bright as usual! Not my shoe and sock though!

A flat and fast cycle back to ECP C4 ensued.

Distance clock around 38km. Time: 3:15hr (+ makan)

Is it an easy route to run? Well, compare to SCSM(which is pancake), this is going to be a bit tricky. Quite a few humps + traffic lights. It can get pretty dark and lonely out there. I think a MP3 accompany is a must to keep me entertain since there are practically nothing to see in the evening. It is going to be a long lonely evening run come May 08.
