中秋节子约 一起疯吧!

你们疯就好, 我为什么要跟你们一起疯!

I was thinking of various excuses. I was disappointed with myself. Today run, i just have to do it.

Today mark the 3rd weekend before NorthFace. It is either this weekend or next weekend being the longest run in preparation for the event. Given the nature of the terrain, i feel is that a longer tapering should be good. IF we failed, there is still next week...:) Menu of 38km is served for this weekend.

14 of us started the run this morning at 7am. We reached the clear opening in 25min. I try to keep a slightly slower than comfortable pace to reserve strength for the run later.

Reached the entrance to BTMBT around 1:20hr. Still feeling pretty comfortable. Reached visitor center feeling good. Nevertheless decide to proceed to take out a museli bar for replenishment. I was taken back when a monkey sneak up on me and snatch the half finished museli bar from my hand! Wow, this is scarily!

After the fright, we proceed to go up the summit. I just take a long walk up and conserve energy for the long run ahead. This is not the time for heroic matter.

Hit the path towards Zheng Wah. Reached the sign board, still feeling pretty fresh. Up that long slope towards Meeting point 4, decide to start the marching up all the slope in attempts to keep legs fresh.

So far the body haven’t give up on me yet, so just maintain a comfortable pace running along in the middle of the group.

We take a tactical halt at Zheng Wah residential area when we spotted a vending machine! Haha…mechiam like an oasis! So happily everyone queue up to grab the drinks. Those without coins even walk up to nearby resident to exchange note for coins! Wahaha….. 100+ taste so nice.

After the break, felt so much better and we proceed to move on. Slow and steady we make our way back to the pipeline(BT). Quite a nice feeling to know we are on the return trail!

We push on towards BT summit for the 2nd time. As I climb the steps, I can feel abit chuan. That is natural with the ascending movement. What I didn’t anticipate is that I feel terribly tired on the climb! Damn! I did proceed to climb up to the summit, but not without paying the price for it.

I was not feeling good on the steep staircase climbing. I have to force myself to rest a few times to slow down the impact on climbing. I guess the body isn’t condition for such kind of workout. It reminds me of the last climb up Mount KK. When I reached the top, can feel the fingers are slightly numb and hands are getting cold, which is a bad sign. I decide to walk down to visitor instead of running as planned.

So glad to reach Visitor center once again. Get myself 2 can of 100+ to top up the “battery”. Felt so much better after the break. I decide to walk and conserve energy from there onwards as we make our long way back to MR. Anyway, we OTOT from there onwards.

Fortunately I am not alone. Fennel is kind enough to join me in my long march with some short run back to MR. Of course we take the short cut and didn’t proceed to Ranger station as plan.

The feet is hurting, but nothing that is killing. Everything else seems to be functioning well. Just the time is getting longer and longer on the feet, which is okay. What choice do I have? No matter how long it takes, still have to reach back at MR carpark.

1:40pm, we finally reached the end of a super long run. One of the longest training run ever! 6:40hr on the feet! Not unexpected on the duration..but……I didn’t expect to clock about 40km today! I was thinking about 32-35km the most.

The furthest run I ever complete is around 26km since I have “retired” that was a couple of weeks back. But 40km! What am I thinking about? I have no long race coming up! The next race is 14km at the end of the month! Why on earth do I need to do such long distance?

你们疯就好, 我为什么要跟你们一起疯!
