Long Beach Run
Four of us (Francis, Jeslin, Simon & myself) have a very sinful seafood lunch on Friday. Francis & myself won two crabs each for winning our bet with Jeslin and Simon over Jeslin’s “loss weight program”. We went to Long Beach at IMM and have our feast. Goodie good….haha….
After makan, feel like going to MR for a run to burn off the calories, but alas have a long run tomorrow. Doing that will not be good for the body as I have experienced a while back, since Saturday there is going to be LSD. No choice lah…have to endure.
Today went for a run with Francis at Kallang(PA).We meet at 6:15am. We proceed to run towards Esplanade, then headed towards Zouk and make a U-turn back to the starting point, which is estimated about 17km. Then we proceed to do the regular 10km route. We run/walk in slow pace and run together and finish the run together. Everything added up = 3:13 hrs.
Sigh….my New Balance shoe has decided to retire prematurely. What a shame. I have purchase this new shoe from the Army after KL Marathon in March to replace current New Balance. The old pair still survives, but this one has already completed its usefulness. Lucky I detected it abit early with the deteriorating rate and get a New Balance shoe during last week ICT camp. The shoe is okay before the run, but gives itself away during the run. The first 16km the shoe is okay. The front of the shoe gives way. By the ½ way of the 10km, the back end of the shoe has given way. I have to jog gingerly and drag the shoe along. Damn frustrated not able to run properly. Finally left 1km from the end, the shoe is in such bad shape that I just tear out the base and run w/o it. Wow….experience the different between bare feet running on the left leg and with cushion on another leg is very interesting. Now I know what kind of impact will I get if I run barefoot. Lucky it is only 1km so I just run slowly and be careful of what/where I step on. Hopefully do not result in problem in term of injury because of the run.
Tomorrow sgrunners have a gathering. Quite a big group will be going, therefore have to go lah…even though I have just completed my LSD today…Take it easier tomorrow lah…hopefully the bike stall is “open” by 7:30am so that I can cycle instead of running.
