Week Ending 19 Feb 06

Start of Mt KK Climb Training

For the month of Feb and March, the training program is Monday and Wednesday at NIE Track(Bukit Timah)

First time, i meet with the group at NIE Track. Not the entire team is there. This being the beginning of the training, i guess everybody have to make some adjustments to their training schedules and committements thus the attendance isnt great. Same for myself, i have to readjust my schedules. It is going to take a few weeks to do the adjustment and get use to new exercise regimen. Image hosting by Photobucket

Monday, we did a loop from NIE along Bukit Timah to Sixth Avenue up towards Holland Village, downwards to Botanic Garden and back at NIE track. This is going to be our regularly "10K route" for this couple of months. We did 3 laps of striding around the track, before calling off for the day.

Wednesday, there are more new faces for the run. We do our "normal" route. I wasnt feeling that fresh, maybe not use to the new exercise regimen. We rest for a while before we proceed to run towards Farrier Road to those HDB flats. We are suppose to do 8 sets of 20 storeys. I did 7 sets of walking up. Lesson learn on first week of training: (i)The training is going to be "long", ending about 9:15pm-10:30pm. Don't make an appointment afterwords. (ii) Need to readjust the training schedules. (iii) It is going to be tough training, need to work on the exercise strategy.

CBD Run (Tuesday) Valentine Day

A Valentine Day run. Must be a lonely Valentine Day for most of us, since we are out running instead of a romantic dinner. Image hosting by Photobucket

I was lated. The traffic was very heavy and i was trapped. As i was doing my stretching, i find the muscles pretty tired. This morning gym was pretty okay, but somehow now, i am feeling difference. We started off and i have trouble going on, i was slow and i know i am not going to last the distance, almost 2km. I make a decision to take a toilet break and headed back, whereas the rest pushed on with their 6km route. Today xuanjing joining us for a run, first time since her injury, glad that she is making a comeback. We have a enjoyable Valentine Day run, even though the distance is short. Anyway, sometime when the body is tired, just take it easy. It is more important to have a group of friends, chit chatting and enjoy ourself and i shall live to run on another day. Saturday LSD

This is suppose to be my last longest LSD to prepare for KL Marathon 2 weeks later. I intend to push on at least for 34km(what i did last week).

It was a difficult at first as i feel abit difficult to get the engine goinging. I head straight towards Kim Seng, instead of Marina South first. I was thinking of doing 2 loops of 17km. As i head back, i decided to head towards Marine South instead. I was struggling abit. Mentally i wasn't strong, my body telling me to quit and run back. Effectively, the MP3 does its part as a good motivating factor. I can't thank the MP3(and Pheck Leng) enough to motivate myself along the way in preparing for KL Marathon. Some of the sounds are pretty motivating to push on despite the "dull" and lonely runs. Run passed Ronnie again today as per last week.

Head towards Kim Seng again after Marina South. On the way back in Esplanade, did another 1km making a total of 35km within 4hrs. Additional 1 more km with similar timing compare to last week.

I am glad i have pulled through feeling much better compare to last week. Most importantly managed to clock the mileage. Image hosting by Photobucket
