April Fool Day

There are 2 runs in Sgrunners today. One is a run from lower pierce to Mandai(zoo) and back, the other is tim sum run from Esplanade to Geylang. I didnt know about the tim sum run, or else i would have plan in a way to tag on the run. Image hosting by Photobucket

I haven't have a long run since KL Marathon about 4 weeks ago. 1 week after KL, there is Vertical marathon, anyway need to rest a bit after 42k lah. The week after still in Reservist, i managed to steal a swim/run at Sentosa and Cemetry Run to prepare for Singapore Biathlon. Last week is Singapore Biathlon and World Harmony Run. This weekend, i choose to run on my own and give myself some time to reflect on the recent events.

I went for my usual Kallang (27km) run today. Mind is a bit weak today, nevertheless, i pulled through, although have to struggle in the end to complete. Guess 2 weeks after KL Marathon, i should have run a 20k+ to keep the fitness up. Next time will take note of it. Image hosting by Photobucket

I wanted to start the run at 6pm, dilly dally since no pressure and start the run at 6:30am. It was an okay start. Surprised to meet Balasing at Esplanande on the bridge, when i ran passed. He informed myself that he is there for the tim sum run. Whoa say...how come i didnt notice the run is today. Image hosting by Photobucket Timing isn't right to join them as i need a long run today since i don't know when is the next one, after looking at Mt KK training schedule. Image hosting by Photobucket No choice, i pushed on towards Marine South. I meet Charlotte along the way as she proceed to meet the rest for tim sum run.

The body abit rusty and engine not really in good health. My mind is still toying between 20k or 27k. Image hosting by Photobucket It was always like that when the mind is weak and without any pressure, the devil within myself will normally win. Image hosting by Photobucket

At Marine South, saw a lot of police cars, an Ambulance, photographers near to the Mai Lah steamboat area. Half the lane is closed for traffic. I was told by the police to run on the side of the road. That is the time, when i saw a body lying on the road with lots of ppl in blues surrounding it. I wanted to kaypo but the weather is getting hotter and i dont want to waste too much time.

Slowly, i make my way back to Padang when the split point for my 27km route. I feel okay at that point and took the 27km route. Image hosting by Photobucket It is after 1km that i realised i should take the shortest route RTU(have use this pharse for a long time "Return To Unit"...balek kampung). I give myself more water/walk breaks in between then.....haha....nevermind lah..just want to cover the distance.

I finished the run at 3hrs03mins. Slow lah...but its okay...just need the distance. Hopefully i can do that again in the near future.
