Reward for SCSM 06
I have decided prior to SCSM06, what should i treat myself after the event. I feel like a small kid, looking forward to what should i reward myself after the examination....
Week in week out, i have to plan for my runs, cross training and more runs..... After a major event, it is the best time to take a back seat. Relax a bit and forget about training and give myself a break and do something relax.
I have choose to revisit Gunang Lambak for a climb with my sweetheart. It is a short climb to let sweetheart know what have i gone through for the Mount Kinabalu Climbathon
I have jio Simon and Ling Ling along for the trip to get a feel of climbing. It is a short climb of 510 meters(vertical distance, actual distance might be longer), should be okay for most even though you are not physically active. Off we went over to Kuang on Friday evening after work.
We reached Kuang at 8pm, check in to hotel. Went for dinner and walk around town. It is a small town and not much night activities(not as though we are looking for). We have a relax evening of makan and chitchatting.
Saturday morning, we went over to Lamabk. We start our journey at 7:22am. Unlike the first climb with Roland, we took a slightly easier route(recommended by a climbing couple). Also the weather was much less than desirable. It was raining and make thing interesting, sweetheart, simon and ling ling aren't at the physical best. They are struggling and mind/fresh are falling. It take much coaxing to bring those 3 to the top. Is it worth it? Well, you can check out the pictures !
It took us 50mins to reach the top from 600 meters and another 55mins to decend. We did pretty okay.
We came back to hotel for a bath before we check out for a round of makan sessions in the town. I guess we put on more than we left behind in the mountain.
We came back to Johore Bahru. Went across to Holiday Inn for a massage! I have been eyeing to do the massage for many months and finally get a chance to do it. I am glad that 4 of us, enjoy the sessions. We will definitely go back for more...
Korean steamboat for dinner, really make me feeling FAT....haha... A great day to unwind after the many months of workouts.
