A recovery run in MR?
Normally the week after a long distance event, i would have taken the weekend run lightly. Maybe less than 20km on flat road. This time round, i choose to do 20km in MR.
This weekend i am running with the too-family. Apart from Heeshen and myself non of them did that extra "long" distance last weekend. Most of us are taking part in KL Pacesetter event 2 weeks from now. With that in mind, i have decide that 20km in MR is good for everyone. As for Heeshen and myself, i am confident we can pulled through - slowly.
There are a good group of runners today 6:30am at MR. Too Tao, Too Hee, Piglet, Too Buay, Too Kua, Lao Too, Too Moi, Ms Piggy and myself.
The run for today is a typical MR 20km route. Those that want to do 15km route will U-turn at the Lower Pierce toilet.
Below is the extract i posted on the forum
a very good run - everyone
I am glad that most of us did the 20km run.
It is indeed encouraging to see Too Tao and Too Mio (is that correct spelling!) did 20km as well. Cool! They have shown great potential to go further with some training at this kind of terrain. Definitely a Marathoner finisher in the near future.
Too Buay and Piglet show their determination to complete the distance despite not feeling well - due to flu, muscle fatigue and lost of blood(donation).
Lao Too was on steriod and nobody can smell his dust and he outrun everybody easier. Well done!
Ms Piggy despite her tummy pain, walk through the course.
Too hee was very strong and run longer than everybody else. Most probably due to not much running after SCSM? Hehe... :X
Too Kua very notti today, managed to "encourage" our timid toos (Tao and Moi) to do 20km. Well done!
Although a small mishap at the end, we have an enjoyable run nontheless.
Keep it up. Shall we meet again sooner.
I wasn't feeling particularly good throughout the run. The starting part was panting for me. After coming out of the jungle trail, it was 26mins. I was like huh? Maybe the body is taking a hit because of the blood donation on tuesday.
Leg was heavy and managed to find the groove at certain part of the runs. I would have did 15km today if not seeing the rest of the toos doing 20km! Haha, sometime when the chips are down, just have to cut lost and run on another day(especially after 52.5km last weekend!). Today is different! The camaraderie is there and i am glad that i pulled it off.
Pictures here.
