The first organised run by Saucony. Jump at it, when it is first announced a couple of months ago. Furthermore in ECP, should be flat and good.
It has been a long time since i did a 10km race, need to gauge how is the fitness level and hopefully crack open the 50 mins barrier that have been elusive.
Along the way, situation changes. Went for blood donation 13 days ago. Current focus is on the tri events, not on running. Yesterday even went for a 21km run. This race is just a warm up, of course will still expect a decent timing.
Reached carpark behind the chalet at 6:40am. It is a good 1.5km walk to the start point. Give the traffic conditions nearer the start point, plus free parking, what else can you ask for?
This run is abit strange. Strange in a way the runners seem disorganise. What i meant is that there isn't gathering of Sgrunners or even SAFRA runners. Normally i get to witness pockets(10-20 pax) of runners gathering from various running fraternity. For this event, there is none. Pockets of 3-6 runners are spotted here and there. Of course, meet with at least 10-20 Sgrunners during the course of the event, but we are scattered. I cannot understand what has happened.
I am on the first wave! The gun went off and the organiser have to mention again and again that only RED tag runners are to start the run now. Non-Red tag Bib runners are to wait for the wave! Messy!
Road was narrow and it get congested at certain junctions. Can't really run much. Just keep on a good pace and run on the grass patch at times to bypass the slower runners. It seems a long way before i reached 3km in 16mins. Wow i was abit surprise at the slow timing with the effort i have put in. I know breaking the 50 mins have gone. Reached 5km U-turn mark in 27 mins+. Wow, it is going to be tough for the return leg as the tank are fast depleting.
The pace get slower as i struggle along. The aim is just to fnish the run on current pace. Have my first water break around 8km and catch my breath. Damn it, kena spotted by .... and kena suan! First water break and kena suan! Haha....
Slow and eventually crossed the finishing line in 56mins 19 sec. I was disappointed that i can't even hold 5:30min pace for 10km!
Pick up a few drinks and goodies bag and decide to walk back to the car. Not really in a mood to do anything else.
On the way back to the car, saw Goh C**** T*** and his "walkers" total 20-30 persons, walking on the runners path! WTF! Knowing there are competition going on and walk like "ah gong" F***ing road! Mr Goh, you are also a sport person in your younger days, can't you have some "brain" to do what a normal person will do! Disappointed that you didn't set a good example.
I walk on the side of the pathway and on many occasions walk on the grass patch to avoid the runners and photographers!
A good sunday morning jog. :)

Hi there, I realized that the Goh CT and his friends are blocking the pathway, especially when the first few female runners were rushing to the finishing line. Think I saw you when I was walking to the race site with Renoh. I kinda enjoyed the run though.
