UW - II

Woke up with the usual ache on the quads and calves, small matter. As long as not knee pain, the usual aches are trivial.

Start the bike at 5:13am. By then the supporting crews for Realrun event are in place. I believe the folks from home team stay overnight from the look, as some of them(in uniform) are spotted lying on the ground to catch whatever sleep they can harness. Several Cisco mobile squad are available on both end(1 at the road leading to new conventional centerl, the other at the other end near the entrance to tanah merah ferry terminal). Ambulance came much later, as usual with alot of flashes.

Coastal road will be corner off from 7am to 10am. This is bad and it means i can't do the bike along coastal road. *sob sob*. I didn't think it is necessary to close up the entire road IMO, 2 lanes should be more than sufficient! Should i stop? Should i make a big loop(tampines, Loyang, Changi?), Do ECP loops? Cycle to Marina and do loops there or somewhere else?

I deliberately lower the gear so that it won't be that stress to the knee and see how it goes. Surprisingly the knee feel good and i manage to maintain my pace! That is very good. This is the first time i manage to maintain good pace with 1 gear lower. Why didn't it happen previously?

I did 1.5 of coastal road. No choice, time up leow. Then proceed to ECP(B1). Meet MF SAFRA there ready to run off, have a chat with some of the folks there. They headed towards Marina South while i continue to do loops at ECP. I know there are folks walking around and it is not convenience, but after weighing the options, i think this is the safest option.

I managed to do 3 loops of ECP(B1 to Coastal Road), each about an hour. Although the sun is up and blazing down, but i feel okay. The thought of knee "pain free" is enough to make my day! Qauds sng is of minor issues, just let it rip!

Proceed back to Coastal road capark, still in 1 shape! At least no pain, maybe a bit of tire. What to expect when you just manage to clock 6:04hr(total time), distance 128.19km, average pace 22.5km/hr, max pace 28.8km/hr. Cycle time: 5:40:41.

I should be delighted that i managed to pull through this LSD bike without problem on the knee. But i don't. I know this is the least i can do given the condition and circumstance, i am currently in. Today, i have missed a very good opportunity to do a 3/4 IM training :(
