Busselton IM short version
A challenge that I took up for fun and it is an experience of a life time.
It was an excellent weather in busselton throughout the event.
The swim, I "choke" in the water for the 2nd time in an event. I just freak out in the middle of the swim. I get very frighten, breathing erratic and I panic. I don't know exactly what happen but I did.The matter get worst that everyone have long gone left only a handful beside me! Am I really that slow?
It took me a min or so to calm myself down and proceed further. I was surprised that I came out of the water in 1:31hr.
The bike, my weakest event. Everyone just zoom past me. They are so fast! Left hamstring like pulling up before even mounting the bike. The headwind is very strong! At times, it drop to sub 20km /hr I think, bike comp is not working. Right aerobar support is lose. Have to constantly use finger to tighten it. The back and neck are sore from the ride. I am very glad to come down of the bike in 1 piece without any hiccup! I did 6:35hr.
The run, bottom of the foot is sng! Very difficult to run as it hurts whenever I step! Heart rate went blonkers! Maybe not enough fuel. I felt cold, feel like throwing up on various occassions. Apart from first 2km which I ran nonstop, the rest is walk run until the end. I just can't sustain the distance. I do not know why. A 100meters run follow by short walk. Can imagine how painful long is the run? I just can't do a proper run. Finish the run in 4:50hr, one of the most painful run I ever have!
Finished in 13:10hr
As a whole it is a good experience.

DEFINITELY time to party! :P You have done very well and should be proud of yourself :) All the hard work in preparation, research, and even taking the time to motivate the rest of us for our marathons... BRAVO!
So when is the next ironman? :P
Second that - fantastic job - hope you recover quickly......roentgen - you'll have to buddy up for the next IM!!
Hey Ice, I will be the first to confess that I am not made of ferromagnetic material :P IM is reserved for the truely determined athletes :P
Then again, if it justifies more guilt-free hearty meals... hmmm... :D
