Day 5 - Hakone 19th Feb 2008
Day 5 - Hakone Day 1
Head out of Tokyo towards Hakone. The lady from the train station is extremely helpful. She plan our trip using our JR pass, twist and turn changing about 4-5 trains along the way. The efficient and timing of Japanese tube is amazing. We reached Hakone slightly after noon time.
The weather seems to be colder compare to Tokyo. The folks at Hakone are warmer than the past few days, maybe because they are staying at “kampong” area.
We have a hard time buying ourselves a lunch. Laze around before we head over to Lake Ashi. 40 mins of bus journey and finally for the first time I see snow! Ok, some part of the snow is dirty, but at least it is SNOW – white colour hor!
We are fortunate to catch Mount Fuji view from Lake Ashi. Earlier the day, it is not available according to the tourism board sky cam. It was again very cold over there at 5pm. We are all delighted with the snow and views.
Another 40 mins later, we are back in Hakone town area. It was getting dark and we proceed to conquer our next major objective in Hakone. ONSEN! It has been a long time, since I try one. It was so shiok, playing with the hot water! Before that we(Ronnie and myself) expose ourself to the lady cleaner which happen to be inside the so call “all men” session! *faint*. Wah loh! Damn paiseh to see a lady(ok old lady) in a male changing room in a compromise position!
We dine in the room. Have a good time chit chatting and get an early sleep.
