Dusty Run
Date: 11 April 08
Time: 10pm
Starting point: NTU(Stadium)
Distance: 55km
Route: Does it matter?
Due to next week IM China, i need to do shorter distance(tapering). After going through the route, i decide to stop at West Coast MacDonald, which is 19km(based on google earth) from the start.
The run is refreshing. It will be good to have a change of environment to run :p
I read that there is a change in the route, but somehow it didn't dawn on me, it is going to affect me, until i was at the start point. Why? Damn!
There are about 30-40 runners this evening run. As expected we started off about 20mins later due to the big crowd. :(
The change of route, get us out to Lim Chu Kang first before it head to West Coast. By then the distance would have been 35km! Damn. Ok, time to change strategy. Run to max of 20km(or a good place to take cab) and head over to West Coast.
The run start within NTU. It was abit bumpy...haha...an interesting start! Throughout the run i am very conscious of my HR as i move along. I forget to change the mode on the watch and ended up with Bike Mode: 2.64km wtih average of 120bpms later, i realised and make the change.
The run option read 13.89km, average 124bmps with max 143bmp. Total time: 1:57hr, distance appropriate 17km before i stopped.
The first pit stop is 57mins after the run. Phew! I feel okay. Lim Choon Kang "highway" was abit long and smell "stink!". It was an interesting route. Wahahaha...
It was a good and slow run. HR remains good throughout. We stopped at 17km. We walk another 1km to the nearest petrol kiosk for refuel and cool ourself down before we hitch a premium cab...8 seaters! There are 7 of us and we expect to grab 2 cabs, but somehow 1x MPV cab come along...hehe....
Head over to Bukit Timah to have supper before splitting up.
A short night run. More to come after IM china to prepare for Sundown.
