Haikou - Hainan
Arrived in Haikou. :)
A stiff 3 hours+ flight from Changi to Haikou. On the plane there are many Singaporeans coming over for the event. In fact, there are quite a few ang moh there as well. One of them is an elite women(don't know her name, but the guy show me a tri magazine which has a Jaggard Ad which have her photo)...saw her "well toned" body, damn solid...for a lady..not to mention if it is a guy!
It was good to touch down in Haikou. My first impression is that it is a rural area. The airport, duty free shop(mechiam like in 80's), abit shock to see this kind of setup. The conveyor belt stopped a few times before we picked up our luggage. So far doesn't look that impressive.
I was surprise that someone call up...are you "kops"! Hehe...it is Gugugaga and xiao peng....wow...2 x Sgrunners. They informed me about the transport arrangement with the Trifam. Wasting no time, i speak to Roger, Edkor and Junior to get me "on board". Lucky for them, it make the transition very easy.
We packed the luggage into the cargo van and take a chartered bus to the hotel. There are 14 bikes + 20+ folks staying in 3 hotels. The bulk are staying in Meritus Mandarin that is where i stay.
5 Star hotel, expensive for local standard, does show the quality once we arrived in the hotel. At least the room is so much better than our usual oversea stay. Maybe we are not use to staying in luxury hotel, it definitely worth the $ that we have paid. We are surprised that the hotel power socket is not China standard, but UK. I understand this is a Singaporean hotel but power socket is also Singapore style! That is something new!
It was late 5pm when we arrived, we leave for dinner at 7pm. The restaurant was hugh. In fact all the restaurant here are hugh, looks grand from the outside. Inside the patrons like 10-20% occupied. It is a seafood dinner, cost us S$20 per pax. Quality so so, must get use to the local standard. :p
Head over to the local supermarket nearby for a quick grocery shopping before retired for the day.
