Calm before Sundown

3 crazy persons started running slightly before 5am this morning.

Everyone was yawning. It has been a long time since we started running at this early hours.

It was a very quiet morning starting from B1 to NSRCC. We meet 2 more crazy runners along the way! Too quiet to be truth. But not surprising when it is the day where after Sundown, a bunch of our crazy runners from will start the ultramarathon(84km). The crazy one will start at 7pm, whereas those not so crazy ones will start the 26 miles at midnight! Hmm...when has 42km runners not consider as crazy one in mere mortals eyes? Hmm....only when there are more crazy ones around lah! Wahaha...

It was a decent run on the first part. Most probably because the 2 are running at a slower pace. Reach 8km in 1 hour. At least i feel comfortable.

We take a longer walk break when we stopped for our customary pittstop. It was a good break in between for me as today 20km is another attempt whereby i try to hit the magical "2" distance. The last attempt ended in failure a few weeks back.

It was still manageable until 16km, whereby we took our last pittstop. I brought a can of Pokka isotonic drink(first time trying) and immediately feel a stitch and later a rumbling tummy. Haha..weak tummy! As expected the pace has increased on the last stretch and i am feeling the strain. I slowed down, letting the 2 taking a short lead ahead.

I decide that i should try to hang it there and see how long i can last. I manage to keep a 10 meters gap when we reached the end. Pretty good for a 2:30hr effort. Glad that i reached the 20km again.

Strange thing is that my right ankle feel strains...i didn't twist it during the run...don't know if it is because i slight sprain it on Wednesday at the gym.

A good run. Thanks to my 2 crazy friends.
