LT Swim

It was raining heavy when i reached the gym yesterday. I don't think i want to get wet and change my mind and head to office instead. A rest might be good for me.

Reached Tanjong Beach before 7am with Gen. Tao and Yankee are slightly earlier, Burnz just a step back.

Water is at a All-Time low! I mean it is really LOW! When i reach the buoys(exterior parameters). I can still stand(tip top) and breath! It was difficult to swim due to the low tide. But it is also a good experience as well.

I don't need to train in openwater to prepare for event. I just need water time in the pool. I am confidence on water, how deep or strong the water is, doesn't really matter to me. The tougher the condition, the more kick i get out of it. It is different to some folks though. Especially to those that don't have much confidence in water. They need openwater and tough current to gain the confidence. Next week is the event, if not this weekend, there isn't any more opportunity leave. Low tide or not, the swim has to go on.

5 of us started the swim. Water conditions is decent. Certain time it is wavy, other time it is calm. There is some undercurrent from time to time. Good mixture of environment for a training swim.

We started off 7:12am, and out of the water at 9:17am. Swim+rest+chitchat= arga 2hrs. I didn't expect to be so long, but nevertheless it is good to be in the water for that period. It gives other the opportunity to have more openwater time.

I cut by toe in the water on some rocks, where i try to stand..damn...i really need a booties! At least now, get hurt leow...so no more excuses! HR went up during the 2nd loop. Somehow it was not visible until i checked. Damn. It was still high when i reached the shore.

Decide that no run after the swim due to toe injure+ HR.

Bath and have a 3 course meals(Beef noddle, Kaya loti/kopi, Chicken rice) with Gen + CCF. Yummy.
