P.I.T
This morning we have a run at Bukit Timah - Zhen Hua area to familiar with ourself with NF route. The target is 27km. As expected i didn't complete the intended distance. I hardly cross over the low 20's for the past many months that my mind can recall.
It was almost 7am, when 12 crazy ones started our journey this morning from Ngee Ann(similar to last week). As usual we have to start late. It seems that we are unable to start on time nowadays. :(
The route is the extension and complete what we didn't do last week. As VH put it, a familiarisation run. At the end of the run, VH did mention, don't abuse the word "familiarisation" run.....:(
By the time we reached 5km mark. We are "finished". The effort put in seems to be much more than that. I got this feeling, it is going to be long and struggling run. Maybe the negative thoughts of another 22km awaits! Like YH has mentioned. Don't need to tell me the distance, it is demoralising.
With Tao and YH leads us on, i have lost count of the slope we head up/down. Venture into the unknown, running into those kampung places. Up and down the winding roads that are flanked by greens is another kind of joy that have vanished in SIN. L asked me, where is there not much talks about this kind of place to run. Well. unless you are into mountain bike or hiking, nobody will know or where to find such places to run. MR is not enough close to this kind of terrain.
I don't know i am just hanging there or running comfortable this morning. Strange isn't? You feel comfortable means your "tank" still have sufficient "fuel" to last the distance. You are struggling, you have this "am i there yet?" can't of feeling. Not that i am rushing for another appointment, it seems i have too much negative thoughts.
I was getting tired before we reached the intended halfway mark(13-14km). It is going to be a long struggle back i think. I quite like this kind of feeling. To improve i have to feel tired and struggling during training. Abit of chuan is good, but not with the body condition i am currently at. The body is still trying to adapt what is being "dish" upon. Hopefully my end of the this year, i will regain most of lost fitness.
Apart from Lionel and Tuck, guess the rest of the folks have more than their share of fun this morning and decide to cut short the distance. I don't really mind going extra distance(we did almost 22km) to enjoy the pain a little bit more. Fortunately the decision is taken out of my hand.
Based on the watch we took 3:25hr to complete almost 22km. I don't think we rest too much along the way. A good run with laughter(stuck is stuck) and accompany(we run in a closed pack today).
Time to rest for the bike session tomorrow. Hopefully....hmm....:)
Pain Is Temporary.
