Pre Race Thoughts
It has been a long journey to get myself back at Ironman event.
Though the last few days of workouts in Port Mac is rather disappointing and has cause a dent in confidence as the race inches closer. I know I have put in sufficient training to last the distance physically.
If nothing medically or mechanically goes wrong. I should be able to slog finish within 17hours. It is going to be a long day given the undulating bike route.
I had been experiences chest pains for the past few days, I don't know why. Maybe a heart attack is imminent?
When you get older, thing that can goes haywire, will do so! There is no running away from it.
I am treating this event as my last IM event. I don't know how or whether I will be doing it again. It is a long event and many things could have screw up along the way. Training is okay, event wise I have to consider twice in the future. On the other side, training without a target(event), make the focus difficult. I am going to try and enjoy it, by taking a step back and appreciate it.
My BIB is 597, you can follow by progress online at ironmanlive.com hopefully, it has a successful completion to this journey.
It's Showtime!
