Tough Run
I was awoke by the rain splashing from the window. Hmm…seem so cozy on the bed…then it dawn on me that I have to run later! Before I can do anything, sms alerts already streaming in.
Checking the weather outside and the many sms, it is time to continue the sleep and run(the next day – Sunday)
Another classic case, when running should plan on Saturday. If weather screwed, there is always Sunday!
Sunday, no rain, but weather forecast, rains again. Sigh..but lucky it holds pretty well.
I strap on my waterbag(first time for the last few years) and out on MR turf. The water bottle behind, really “straighten” me up. I find it difficult to breath! Hmm….
With a liter of water behind, it is a new challenge for me. I find it rather difficult at the beginning and the terrain is not helping. I have to “walk” before coming out of the trail! This is bad.
It wasn’t comfortable at times. Fortunately there is quite a fair bit of walking, due to the rains that cause quite a few fallen branches.
It was still okay on the first portion towards RRR. But I was struggling to run on the way back. Something snap and I just couldn’t continue to run even a decent distance. It seems I just couldn’t sustain the effort(even though HR is on a decent ground). Body just refuse to continue, which is a surprise.
It was a challenge, but no matter what the run will complete eventually…I guess almost 3hours for 19.2km. It wasn’t pretty, one of those day, completion is something that I cherished as a completion.
What doesn’t kill, I think will make me stronger. :P
