Post DNF
I am dissapointed for not finishing the run on Saturday. Life still goes on.
I have arrange with my colleague to run at Macritchie Reservior on Sunday. He SMS(on saturday) me he can't make it as he forget he has another appointment. He is trying to pick up his running again, after stopping for a few years...he is getting overweight....but he is a FAST runner(PB less than 1:30hr for Half Marathon)...his distance is around 3km currently. He needs someone to push him, he told me, and i glad if i can help him in anyway for another runner to get his motivation and bring the running joy back.
My mind still playing trick(lack of motivation) whether to wake up early again to run.( i trying to cultivate myself to have a late wakeup one day for each week)...Anyway off i went to Macritchie Reservior for the run.
Reach MR slightly before 7am. The usual crowd is there. There is an event(C&C company event)today. The aim today is to run 1xbig loop(10k) and a 1x small lop(4.8k). I have never do anything more than 1 big loop in MR before, since i have concern over injuries. I tend to run with my eyes closed....sob...sob.....
Since i DNF yesterday, i think it will be nice to run 1big/1small loop to make up the disappointment. Another concern i have is that i have not run in MR for 1 month plus...i dont know whether i can still capable of doing it. Anyway soon i will know. If thing doesn't look bright along the way, i just bailed out after 1 big loop....
Off i go....i run conservatively due to yesterday event and not knowing how the body will react to MR again. I leave Ranger Station after the water break around 29mins. Did the big loop running along Lornie Road and reach the start point of the 4.8km route at slightly slower than 1:02hr. Feeling good, i push on for the 4.8km route. Reach halfway of the 4.8km around 13mins. which is okay i feel the pace. Reached the end at the carpark on a slight galloping pace and concluded the run at 1:29:30
It is a good run, i am feeling ok...not overly strain and looking fresh....hehe......
Today i appreciate the run in Macritchie that i have had before. Along the route, i have to push on when going upslope and relax when going downslope. I particularly appreciate the upslope as it "train" you. Unlike road running, it is very flat & u don't tend to have some burst of speed along the way. Maybe i getting to love the slope....hehe....;)
