CNY Run
Last year on the 2nd day of Lunar New Year, i was out running at Kallang-Esplanade route. The path near Esplanade is pretty dirty due to the litters left over a "heavy" event the day prior. I dont want to go through that again, so i decided to head for East Coast for CNY run instead.
On Saturday did a 23km with sgrunners and MF Safra runners, so i am going to do a shorter route today.
I reached East Coast carpark at 7am on Monday morning. Carpark is pretty pack, due to extra long weekend and alot of muslim friends have decided to take the opportunity to camp there on Sunday itself. I started running around 7:15am towards Safra Country Club. I meet Sam(Running Lab/TP Safra) at 7-11, stop and chit chat with him for a few minutes before heading out for my run.
I was feeling a little uncomfortable during the first part of the run. I dont know why, maybe the food i took yesterday was a little too much or have not recovery enough since last saturday 23km run. I was conscious about the knee problem along the way. I slowly run towards Safra Country Club, took a few water/walk break along the way. Before i finish the U-Turn point at Safra CC, i managed to go into "cruise control" and move forward with ease.
My left knee feel stress(a bit) when i reach East Coast Seafood Centre and i have to stop and put on the knee guard. I really want to do the whole route without putting on the knee guard, but alas the knee not able to take it and i dont want to risk it so bo bian lah. The 2nd part was faster than the first, which give me the confident that i can run much faster given the situation.
Total Distance: 14km, time: 2:33hrs(minus 3 mins chitchat with Sam)
When i finished the run, i meet mythos and slowandsteady. They were cycling and stop to exchange greetings, have a small talk and continue with the cycle.
