Are we too pamper ?
Saturday went over to Malaysia(JB) for shop and eat. I couldnt remember the last time we went over to JB.
Since the RM$20 toll havent kick in yet(recently known abt this), i take the opportunity to go in with sweetheart to the latest Jusco(neast Austin) and korean makan.
The traffic jam caused at Singapore causeway about 1hr. We reached the bee-hoon-kuay shop around 1pm. The food is pretty good.
There is quite a few policemen along the street after malaysia custom, we are pretty surprised. Wonder what is happening? or rather what are the changes since we last came. i drive slowly and keep a keen lookout for any ambush of the local police.
After makan, we went over to Jusco. It was a straighforward jounery. We walk around and sweetheart is glad that we went there as it is something new for a changed. Timothy told me there is this Arena swim trunk from Japan that is very good and havent come into Singapore here. I went over and the shop dont have the goods. We brought some groceries before going over to Holiday Plaza to get some CD.
The way the shops are designed, i can see there are recent raids and the shop is having another approach on how to tackle of the situation. Not to reveal too much...we managed to get a few type of CD/DVD from Holiday Plaza.
We went over to have Korean makan near Zon(previously known as Eden). There was a school near Zon and the traffic suddenly decided to STOP and frozen. I couldnt believe it that the traffic just stop by the roads. Parents waiting for their children to mount up the car, just stop and both side of the road is inaccessible. Everybody just patiently sit in the cars waiting. It took about 10-15mins of fustrating mins before the road return to normal.
We choose the aircon makan seatings since we are early before the crowd come in. I make a count and realised that the shop provide 19 set of appetizers We ask for BBQ pork and steamboat. We have lots of food yesterday. In fact the food is more siong than the run in the morning. As we observed around, we make the following conclusions.
1) There is no strict smoking ruling from our neighbour across the causeway. Patrons are allowed to smoke in aircon premises
2) There is lax ruling on animals as well. Imagine have BBQ/steamboat in enclosed aircon place(imagine eating in Seoul Garden) and patron bring along their pet(dog) into the makan table!!!
3) local folks(Korean) eat only BBQ or Steamboat. Non - local(Malaysian/Singaporean) just ask for both to make it completed.
Are we too pamper by our own practise that we expect others to follow?
Alex joined us for a drink "soup" session when we finished our dinner. Paiseh, when he came over, the makan is already finished. He clear the plates literally. After the makan we walk over to Zon for a walk, this is the first time we went in.
We left Malaysia about 9:30pm, when xiaoyen came over to pick alex up.
It was a good trip. The return trip took us about 30mins i guess.
