Mount Kinabalu Climbathon
Mount Kinabalu Climbathon is known as "World's Toughest Mountain Race". This year it is her 20th Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon 2006
The Climbathon is also the final race of the Buff® Sky Runners® World Series circuit for the fifth consecutive year and is one of the two races in the circuit held outside Europe. Buff® Sky Runner® World Series is regulated and coordinated by the European-based Federation for Sport at Altitude (FSA) who are extremely selective in the choice of races for the World Series.

Qualification standards for the SkyRace and SkyMarathon are high, with cut-off times one hour after the first to the top. Rules have been specially developed for the sport and are controlled by the FSA Technical Committee.

A particular rule states:
5. TIME LIMIT5.1 The time limit at every official check point should never exceed 40% of the first male/female athlete. The normal ascent time limit is one hour after the first athlete and two hours at the finish line. Any modifications will be advised in the pre-race briefing.
It is clear that this event is meant for Elite with cutoff time is based on the First athlete that reach certain check point. Technically you can be disqualify at the first check point.
