towards Shenzhen

Wake up with a swim. A rather short swim. The legs aren’t as bad as it use to. I guess the body have use to it or rather, the training or the slack(din't push too hard) have contributed to it. Went for local breakfast by the roadside before dragging the luggage onto the train and travel to LuoHu(Shenzhen). It was a tough walk, bulky luggage and climbing down the staircase to the MTR station with a battered knees/legs! Ouch!!

It is like sitting on MRT travel(back home) to Woodlands Immigration Causeway(If they ever built one) on a 40mins ride. Alighted from the train station, get your passport chop. Walk about 30meters across the bridge and get your entrance passport chop and welcome to China! So simple! It is a breeze today clearing the custom. We heard the the majority of the crowd have returned to Shenzhen a few days back from CNY festive period. I guess being under One Country - China and Hong Kong does have its advantage. I doubt Singapore and Malaysia will ever have one.

I heard from HanCheng and Bing about the horrible stories about the people in Shenzhen. So i am mentality prepared. I have put my HP on vibrant mode, as they are many cases of snacked HP while making calls! Similar to Camera, nobody uses camera in public area! Go toilet in groups as they rob you while inside the loo! Rude behavior of the folks(unless the folks are from service sector). These are common sightings i was told.

We left our luggage at the Train station baggage deposit for RMB60 and left for our shopping spree in the shopping centre next to the train station around 11am. Behold, we left the shopping center at 9:30pm! I couldn't believe we spent so much time at 1 shopping centre!

We brought a lot of stuffs there, at least we combined over S$1K+. Mostly are on imitation stuffs.

What's my first impression in China?

The smoking conditions are pretty bad. They smoke everywhere! HK is better; i was told it was like that too, until the recent ban on public smoking!

Conversation in Mandarin is good. No language barrier.

Traffic is horrible! They can afford to drive on the opposite way at times and making U-Turn on the 2nd lane with extreme line driver going straight!

The police there are useless, when quarrel or fights appear, they just stand by the side and watch! Maybe that is the culture, which i am not use to.

The folks there will stare blatantly at you. I also feel shy!

We pick up our luggage and took a cab(Yoga act in the cab to squeeze here and there) and leave for Queen Spa to enjoy life as a KING!
