Prayer for RAIN
Please don't rain today! I have to reschedule my workout today to cater for the farewell makan in the evening...PLEASE....
Woke up as usual, come out of the house in time. Reach the carpark realise that it is slightly wet on the floor, indicating rained during the night, and felt 1-2 drops of rain. Sigh.....
Didn't think much about it and proceed to the pool. As i drive along, it is apparent that most, if not all, places have been washed over the night! As i edge closer to Bukit Timah, rains start falling down. Sigh x2.....
As i reached Clementi, the rain is still there, though lighter. Please let me have my swim. *shaking head*
Reached the pool, surprisingly only 2-3 pax waiting at the gate. OMG, something is not right! Shouldn't be so little folks doing the swim right? Rain drop heavier, lightning just flash across the sky. WTF! Ahhhh..........#@$#@$#@$
Calm down, think! Ok, rain - cannot swim, then what? Proceed to gym for workout? Or proceed to have breakfast, read newspaper and shake legs? Or .....i dunno. Confused, disappointed...???
Shuttle gate went up, about 10 pax have entered. I pause for a while, deliberating, should i? Since i am here, might as well go in! The most kena chase out of the pool! Sigh....
It was a half hearted feeling, knowing that i might get called out from the pool!
I plunge into the pool and continue with my usual 50 breast + 150 free. I can feel my thighs are tight this morning. After the first few hundreds where the usual ache on the arms are hurting, the rest of the journey seems pretty okay.
As i swim along, the rain dwindle. At least that is what i felt in the pool. I am wet and a few more rain drops won't make any difference! Slow and Steady i finished my 2.2km this morning in 58:19 min. It is slower than tuesday swim, but given the circumstance, i am more glad that someone up there give me the opportunity to complete my workout(as schedule) rather than the timing.
Proceed to do a couple of warm down laps, some stretching and called it a day!
It is always nice to see familiar faces around. Eg during training or races. I believe many of us do appreciate when we say " I am not the only crazy one out there!"
I should give grace to everybody out there that grit through no matter what the weather/obstacle is. Thanks for allowing me NOT to feel " I am not the only crazy one out there!"
There is no bad weather, only weak minds.

I did not have my breakfast today, as i left my breakfast box(tabo already) at home! I didn't realise it until i reach office. Abit late this morning due to the heavy traffic and didn't go across to Atrium buy makan. I was thinking of having a good cup of coffee with some biscuits for breakfast. Alas fate decide the course of action and i have 2 cup of coffee and didn't ate anything! I couldn't believe i did that this morning, especially with the run i have plan in the afternoon?
After the coffee, i realise that my HR increase and i am slightly uncomfortable with it. It seems suffocating at times this morning. Maybe my irregular HR is acting up again!

TG: "are you joining me for a run?"
MP: "Where are you? I am here?"
I rush down to the gym, changed and follow Mike for our first run together along Pandan canal.
Due to tonight makan session, i have decide to do my run during lunch. Intend to do 4 sets 2km along the canal.
I do not know how i am going to fare, especially after HR going slightly berserk this morning!
Mike is a fast runner than myself and he needs to rush back for meeting after the run. He joined me for 2 sets of 2km.
The four sets timing are:
9:50 min
9:45 min
9:41 min
9:59 min
The intent is to do 4 sets of 5 min pace. Based on the timing, i did it! But i fare pretty badly for the last set.
I find it difficult to breath while running the last set! I do not know why! I have to deliberating slow to a pedestrian pace to recover from the breathless! I don't quite like it. For a period of time, i'm just super slow down, worry that sometime bad might happen! It was a struggle and gladly i survive! Phew!
I didn't have appetite for anything, so skipped lunch! Only now, that i realised i didn't have my breakfast! OMG, that means i didn't have anything this entire day! Shit, i better grab something somewhere. It is not that i am hungry, but i know my body needs it to recover for the workout today.
I survive the run...good weather! Prayer for RAIN have answer...thank you....!

I was pretty hungry this afternoon. I drink lots of water and a few chocolate wafer to try to fill up the stomach. Unfortunately the effort is in vain. I have a few package of tibits at my cubicle, but i have no appetitie for such sinful food!
Finally endure to the end of the day! Phew!
