BOF
Bike Out Finally (BOF)
The last ride is Aviva 70.3, when is that? Like freaking long time ago! Sigh...either it is fate or just weak mind that have stopped me from riding.
Alarm rang 1 hour early than yesterday. Woke up and realised that my legs are aching! OMG! The ache came overnight. I have been massaging with the stick last evening and it is seem okay leow. Sigh...
The evil side of me(or is it good side) started to psycho me to sleep, forgo the bike ride. I struggle for a while, but i can't sit on it anymore. I have to push on!
I was slack and slow, but i did make it to ECP carpark at 5am. Bike Out at 5:25am.
It was still pitch dark while i attempt to mark my first century distance today. It has been more than 1 mth plus since i climb onto greyhorse, abit not use to it. Before i reached SAFRA country club, realise that the saddle can move as i shift my buttock! Damn it, it is loose. After a while the seat get lowered automatically. Gosh and i leave the allen key in the boot, since i shouldn't be needing it! No choice, i can't be cycle for a few hours as a drawf! It get harder as i cycle back to the B2 carpark as the length of the leg for paddling is too short.
I reached carpark in slightly more than 1 hr time. Wow, that is very slow! That is about 20km/hr, i was surprised. To make matter worst, i realise that i do not need allen key to adjust the bike! *slap head*, this is not the rental bike from BB, it do not need allen key! Aiyoh. well, bo bian lah. Anyway, i need to clock the distance, going from A to B or C do not make much of a difference.
For the 2nd time i head towards Coastal road. This time round the legs are better position but it seem to be so much heavier. Back at the carpark, when i came down, i can feel my quad is very sng. I do not recall when is that sng ever. Maybe have but i just didn't notice it before. Bypass the TriLadies location for the 2nd time, it seems the system is almost in place to start the inaugural event in a short while. I am coming back later to support a few friends taking part in the event!
It was good to be back at Coastal road. The path is clear, good for cyclist. It was a slow ride today around 20km/hr. Ok maybe 1+2km more as an average. My quads are sng. Maybe yesterday run have taken too much of it. I am disappointed to say the least. I didn't expect this. Guess i have to learn from this and correct my expectation. Fortunately i didn't join any riding group. I would be so embarrassed to be on 20km/hr! Haha...
I managed 2 loops of Coastal road and decide this is it. I won't be breaking 100km barrier today. Not when your body is tired and tell me that i need to rest rather than cycle! When the chip is down, what i need is rest.
Head back to F2 carpark for the TriLadies event. As i get into ECP, i realise that i am cycling on the event route! Wow, that is not good. I thought they are suppose to be cycling on the other side of the road. Not to deny the folks of the road, i find a short cut and dash across to the running path. There is a small elevation to hop into the running track. I try to jump up with the bike to avoid the elevation "hump". Guess what happen next!
Next thing i knew, the front wheel make the jump, the back wheel hit straight onto the elevation pavement. Pssstt..... the back tire is punctured! Hahaha....what can i say! No choice i stop at the TriLadies 5km u-turn point. The hut nearby become a finally end point of the cycling trip today. Time checked 4:05hr with all the breaks. Distance estimated 80km.
I changed my tire for the first time! Get my hands dirty during the process. It was fun. Hehe. I am surprised that when i went over to the toilet nearby to wash my dirty hands, there are liquid soap available! I didn't think there are freely available on public toilet loh. Or it must be my "lucky" day.
I slowly bike over to F2 carpark, by the time i reach there the rain have arrived. As predicted before the race, the rain has come, maybe to welcome me! Hehe. I hide at one of the hut while waiting for the rain. It wasn't long before i was surprised by the organiser to announce the race is cancelled after seems like 5 mins to me! Maybe it have been raining for a long time before i arrived at F2, but when i am at PA sailing club that is less than 1km away, there is no rain! It feel like OSIM once again! KNS! I understand the rational of cancelling the event due to adverse weather. The kind of rains that is experienced in ECP(at F2), isn't loh! This is over protective! That reinforce my believe that i shouldn't be doing anymore triathlon events in Singapore again. It just don't worth the $ and disappointment.
It was still raining when i decide the light rain isn't going to stop, so i push my bike out and cycle back to B2 carpark.
It was a slow ride, but i am glad that i step out on the right direction. This is going to be week in/out from now onwards. It is going to be a long lonely ride moving forward, i hope i remain strong and focus. I thought of my "black" buddy while on the road. Let's dig in and cycle in tandem, thousands of miles apart.
