KL Makansutra - Jan 08

Epilogue

Last year around this time, a group of runners went across to KL for GE 30km. It rained very heavy but that didn't stop them for going around KL searching for the heavenly cooked meals! Alas, i was not invited. :(

After the successful Malacca Makansutra leads by LT, i am pretty sure they(the group of runners) felt fortunate not to bring LT along! LT would have push the bar(makansutra) higher!

After all the jio-ing manage to get our makan guru(Lan Zhu) to join the rest of the toos for a makan trip, which i foresee will etch deeply into their mind if not around their waist. :p

The Gathering

2 cars and 9 persons. We head off from Tanjong Pagar MRT around 7:15pm. Initial plan is to go with full carload of 10 persons, unfortunately situation do not permit.

The target is to reach hotel(Ancasa) by 10:30pm. First "merry up" point is at Sg Besi toll. In actual, since we started off late, 10:30pm(3:15hr) would be a challenge. The other car(Black Kia) decide to take an unscheduled "waffle" break at Kerok Ayer!


When i reached Sg Besi toll, the other car is about 30 mins behind. We are starved and decided to proceed to hotel and merry up at the supper table later. 10:45pm(3:30hr since we started), we have arrived at Ancasa Hotel.



The Beginning


A quick check in and a dash towards Petailing Street for our first meal. Black Hokkien Mee(Meal - 1)!

Next up, Claypot loh shue fun & Hakka fried yong tau foo(Meal - 2)





It was way past midnight when we finished our 2 meals. We retired for the night and recharge ourself for the PIG OUT tomorrow!

Dawn Assault

Reached Lobby 2 mins before move out time of 8am. Some of them have done a pre dawn attack on the hotel complimentary breakfast! Wow, they are showing good appetite i am impressed!

A slow stroll to Restoran Yook Woo Hin for Tim Sum Breakfast (Meal - 3)

Rapid firing eating of muah chee and Sze Ngan Chai(Meal - 4) follows.



Premium Assault


Head over to KLCC for some shopping, saw this premium toilet. According to a friend that have went in, nothing special if you have ever visit the loo from a classy pub with a servant inside providing hand towel.

Dunkin Donuts and Dome(Meal -5) afterward, we are back(to hotel) for a tactical break. :p




Brutal Assault

Head back to Petaling street with additional reinforcement from Zhu Ba Jie, Doreen, TK and ...... whack the Koon Kee Wantan Mee (Meal - 6)


Dash across to nearby Air Mata Kucing for longan water and some tibits (Meal - 7)

Head over to Time Square for some "air con" and fulfil a request for a notti too. It is Baskin Robin round (Meal - 8)

Rest for a while before we head for our show down with Hakka Restaurant (Meal - 9)

Walk abit at Pavilion before heading back to Petaling for Craypot rice (Meal - 10)

Back to hotel for the night. It is a long, sloppy day ahead tomorrow!

Kee Sua

Manage to find 1 picture of makan! The one and only too that felt hungry during the run!!!!!

Last burst in KL

Nam Heong Hainanese Chicken Rice and “ngau lam tong" (beef soup)(Meal - 11) is next.


Waffle Break

Left KL after 1pm. On the way back, did a stop over at Keroh Ayer toll. Waffle time (Meal - 12)



The End

Finally reach Singapore slightly after 6pm. A very good trip. Thanks to Junie for bring us around. I believe everyone have a buffet of a time.

Put on 2kg for the effort...haha....:)

Another round something in the future? Anyone?
