Day 2 – Tokyo 16 Feb 08

Day 2 - Toyko

Woke up early this morning for a acclimatize run. Ronnie, Ai li and Joanna decide to join me for the run. It was freezing cold(more due to the strong wind), some of the pictures below, you can see some of us hiding behind some building while stopping at traffic light etc. Ronnie seems to be immune to the COLD! I do not know whether his training in UK have make him stronger, or his forgetfulness to bring some thick clothing (he just shift home and couldn’t find his clothes!) that is amusing, at this to me.

It was around 4-5km, took us 36mins. Bath and off we head over to Saniro Puroland. Home of the famous Hello Kitty!

We meet up with Ray and Joanne at the MRT nearest to Puroland and off we go. It was a small theme park compare to Disney. It does have its own group of avid followers. Who do not like Hello Kitty? Especially the ladies. The cartoon characters practically have to keep wandering off so that not everyone can tug at them for photos. It was so comical when grown "ladies" chasing after the kitty just to be beaten by the cute little ger ger...haha....the "aunties" was so embarrassed fighting with babies over taking pictures with Melody, Daniel etc.

We spend a couple of hours or so there and have to brave the cold once again. We head over to Shinjuku to do some recee of the route to tomorrow start point. Have dinner at Shinjuku is not easy, everywhere seems to be fully booked and waiting list is long. Finally get a place, "carbo loaded" and head back for an early night in preparation for tomorrow Big event.

Pictures here.
