Head over to sheraton hotel to pick up the barang barang, bike and certification in the morning.
Everyone is walking like a crab except for the few that DNF. It is pretty sad to see/hear folks that you know get DNF, even though it is unavoidable in race. It is brave to DNF, pull out when the chip is down rather than being force out. I guess i am not brave enough to say NO or maybe stubbornness that lead me to complete the event.
Apart from the usual ache that associate with this kind of event. I am feeling a bit feverish and sore throat. It has not subside yet. I guess stupidity is mother of learning curve. On Saturday afternoon, for whatever reason, i decide to join the group for a massage. Caught a cold and was shivering on the table. Is massage on the eve of the event good? I was a bit limping after the massage! Damn it! Too Late!
I wasn't feeling well on race day. I brought lonzages to the race and help me ease the throat on the bike. I guess the training that i have more or less help me to adapt to the body condition. Go slow and finished the race when the chips are down. Rain/Shine, Sick/LS, unless extreme conditions, training have to Go ON, though with caution. Come race day, no matter what the circumstances, The Show Have to Go On!
We have a wonderful lunch..the best we have so far here....too much food again...It was relatively cheap so we didn't hold back...or rather those that order the food.
For kai kai, we decide to head back to the village which is part of the bike route. I guess the feeling to revisit the villages that we went 2 loop the day before and have a closer look and get to know the villages are unanimous. The support they give us are tremendous. In fact i look forward to the village which is between 55-63km of the 90km route. It was a change of the usual highway, at least i can see something different. The aroma from the cowdung! At least let me know i am still alive! *faint*. It was very hot as race day, but with more over cloud.
It was pretty late and we head back to hotel for a rest. I manage to squeeze in a 30mins bike in the gym. It was shiok to give the legs a "massage"...ouch....
After a seafood dinner, we head for a real massage. It was slightly painful..Ouch...Ouch...
A tiring day....
