KL weekend
It took a long time to plan. Finally we make it work. A weekend whereby we have a guy outing to KL. It was either a toss up between KL or Malacca as i am familiar with these locations. Since one of us have not been to MY and prefer twin tower, the choice is pretty obvious.
Right after work, with some delay we head over to KL, it was a smooth moving after the usual jam at the immigration. Reach Federal Hotel before 10pm at Jalan Bukit Bintang.
Decide to forgo Ancasa this time round and stay at Bukit Bintang, since this is a happening area and we can stay pretty late if require. Won't be able to tell what the guys want to do, since this is the first time we going out.
Location is pretty good(crowded). As a whole, everything seem to be in working order given amount we paid. The only drawback about this hotel is that it don't have its own parking lot. We have to use the parking facilities(although it is free for hotel guest) at the next door(IT mall). Wah! I thought i read somewhere it has its own parking facilities. Not realise that parking is at a public building! Damn scary! To make matter worst, the carpark is like our Sim Lim Square, packed like sardines...and still let car coming in! It does get into my nerve! Lucky no incidents over the next 2 days...unless u consider a scare i experience somewhere else during the run later.
Check in the hotel and head over to Jalan Alor which we miss the last trip! Tried out the Grilled chicken wings, grilled fish and sotong as per recommended. The taste is pretty good. Though the sotong is pretty salty...as a whole still worthy a try. Walk around Bintang before closing the shop for the day.
Head over and reach KLCC at 8:30am and the ticket for the walk on the "bridge" is fully utilised! Damn it! To rub it in, i realised that there are no grace period for parking! I have to pay RM$3 for 8mins parking! #$#$%%
Petailing for breakfast..Tim sum! Not really that good, similar to last time, will have to strike it out next round. The porridge seem to be good around the place where they sell black hokkien mee. It was still early, the rest of the shop is not open. Try to walk abit there before proceed to Mega City.
The samsung hp (show bunnie) looks pretty cute...hehe....decide to take a quick, one of those S$10 hair cut...at KL..it is RM$13! Good price, mai tuo leow! Lunch at Sushi King. From previous experience jap food in MY give good value..but quality wise still have some way to catch up.
Everyone was tired. The legs are aching from the shopping! Haha...you can't expect the guys to be good shoppers right! Head back to hotel for a short nap. Tired, no point pushing the "pace" we are on vacation lah!
Time to revisit the Hakka restaurant for dinner. Pig totter are still that good. Prawn sashimi is excellent. A good dinner! Cool.
Walk around the neighbour before we have Baskin Robin session at Time Square. A nice sweet evening to close for the day.
We reach Merdeka Square around 7am. 10km race start at 7:30am, 5km at 8am. We are fortunate to get a parking slot pretty close to the event. I thought it is a paid open air carpark, thus choosing the site, alas since so many cars park side by side, it should be okay.
Siemen Run 2008. FR of the run will be on another thread here .
I meet up with the rest of the gang on the way back to the carpark. I was surprised to see a group of runners gathering at the carpark area with Policeman. OMG MY CAR! My heart sanked! There are a few cars with their side mirror smashed. Apparently petty thief broke the glass and make away with whatever they can grab without opening the door. I was relieve that nothing happen to my car! The car next to mine has its driver window smashed and wallet stolen. It is a mix feeling. I sympathies with those unfortunately owners and felt relieved I wasn’t the victim.
After a bath back in hotel walk across the street to have a local favour wantan mee for brunch. Slack abit at the hotel before we proceed for a massage nearby the hotel. So many of those, just head into the first one we find. The old lady was strong, I was surprised that ah ma is so strong, but I don’t quite enjoy the session. :(
Took a while, turning and twisting and finally reach NS highway back to SIN. We have lunch at Ayer Keroh…A&W, what else? The coney dog taste poor. Anyway, have my ice-cream float root bear and curly fries. Yeah!
Have been driving around 110-120km/hr on the way back, way below my usual 140-150km. I still have to foot RM$50 for speeding! I couldn’t believe it! The car in front of me are speeding and you don’t stop the MY car and stop ME! I won’t even consider myself speeding! IT is ridiculous. What can I do? I just have to pay the corrupted policemen! On the way back to SIN, I saw another 2 more patrol cars looking for victim! By then I have keep my speed between 100-110km/hr!
I am surprised that the new petrol rules for MY have not or ignore blatantly by the petrol company near the 2nd link. I manage to topped up before the custom and head over a smooth transition between the borders. Reach SIN around 6pm.
It was a good trip, thanks guy for the accompany.
Pictures here.
