Depavali Makansutra
Date: 24th to 27th Oct 08
Event: Depavali Makansutra
Pcitures here.
It was a long journey to get this through. Had this plan months ahead. During the way, lots of potholes that we tumble along, sometime get myself bruises, at the end we did make it.
The four of us, Yankee, Angelia, Kickjazz and myself set off from Jurong East on 24th Oct.
The drive to KL is okay. We reached Royal Bintang Hotel in less than 4 hours after we started off. This hotel is much better than Federal, the last visit to KL in terms of it has underground parking! Overall feel this is better value compare to his neighbour - Federal.
We started our dinner at Jalan Alor. Slurp...follow by a long walk to Petaling street. Have black hokkien mee and Lao Su fern. It still taste as good as last time! Yummy. Back at Jalan Bintang, it was way over midnight and the street activities are still high. Shop wise, most have closed for the day.
Next day, we start off with a tim sum. Not really ood quality, so we came back to hotel and have the complimentary breakfast. Wow, at least the "free" meal taste so much better! Cool!
The drive to Cameron highland was good. It was pretty straight forward once we hit the highway towards Ipoh. The twist and upward slope towards Lakehouse is straight forward, the only issue i am concern is the damage to the car.
Lakehouse was very nice. The feeling is very homely, give the quality of the premises, it is good value for money! The only drawback is no TV(in the room) and the need for own set of wheels to travel around.
After settle down, we head further higher up for lunch before coming back for a short nap. I don't know about others, the driver is tired!
The thing about Cameron highland is the cold weather and hot steamboat! What is not expected is HOT weather and tonnes of steamboat littered everywhere! Damn! The most expensive meal(steamboat) are consumed this evening!
To add salt into the misery, there is a ticket on the windscreen! Reason, parking too much out of lot! What! So many cars park illegally like myself and fine me(ONLY)! Damn! I throw that piece of paper away!
Watch DVD on the lappie in room. Thanks to ST for lending the media. It comes handy.
Woke up with the intention to do a run. To everyone surprise the run didn't materialise, it just a short walk down the road skipping around the river.
Yeah lah..there is always a first time! Believe me!
After breakfast, head up to Boh Tea plantation. It was a challenging ride to say the least. Need to require all my experience to pull it through in 1 piece! Haha.
Have a hard time trying to find a decent strawberry farm. At the end sort of abandon the idea as it seems that good quality strawberry farm is far in between. Anyway can get good quality strawberry at masam malam!
Spend some time nuah at the kopi joint. Haha... That is life in the "slow" lane!
Dinner is simple ba kue teh, follow by masam malam kai kai. Strolling along, the only drawback is still the warm weather. Sigh.
After breakfast, we head downwards. The traffic is light and weather is good. Took us an hour to reach bottom.
The route back is uneventful. Reached Singapore safely in ONE PIECE.
Tigger tired. Need a long sleep. Keke.
Thanks for the accompany and angry stares(at times)...Opps!!
