Longest Weekend - Port Mac

I know i am in trouble yesterday evening. I couldn't believe how aching was the body during the swim. My guess is the diet that i adhere to for the medical checkup has screwed things up! #@$#$! This is not the right time to mess it up when i am suppose to peak for my training this weekend! Why it has to happen at this crucial moment!

I woke up with the expected ache on the body. I wondered how am i suppose to endure the run later on! The last session, i remember i struggle to complete the distance, and that is in a much healthy body condition than now. Damn! It just have to be now?

We started the run late Saturday morning(6:55am) as someone overslept! Almost fell asleep waiting. :p

Today Too Kua finally appear after MIA for a few months due to work. He currently fitness is 10km+ so he is doing the shorter distance with Tao. Whereas Bakuteh, Bao Bei, CCF and myself doing the longer route.

We started from NP heading towards RRR. I deliberately kept the pace slow and accompany Too Kua and catch up on stuffs back in office. Soon the rest already rocket out of sight. Hmm....Either they are too fast or we are just too slow. Taking it easy as we move along.

For some reason, don't really feel like running, just wanna slack and keep a slow pace. My guess is that the mind has made up that today i shall do the shorter distance and keep my body fresh and prepare for the long bike tomorrow.

At this moment, weighing the importance of trainings, i have to Go with the Bike session. I bid farewell with the 3 toos at Ranger station, whereas Toa, Kua and myself took a short run back.

It was slow pace, chit chatting run back. We even head towards Durain loop(to bring Too Kua for a look) before getting back at NP. Time: 2:17hr for 14km. It is a short run, not really trouble by the terrain and pace today. Just a warm up run and get it safely completed and hopefully will be enough to buy sufficient time/space for tomorrow session. Finger crossed.

I woke up as per planned on Sunday early morning for my bike. Did a self check and seems that the ache has subside and it wasn't that bad. The most important is the quads is unaffected by all these, it means i am "in business" to negotiate the bike! Anyway, i won't know whether that is true or not, given that some other parts of the muscles are used by biking are also tax during other workouts as well. I just have to take one step at a time and hopefully everything turn up nicely.

Bike off at 2:47am. The pace was slow at the beginning and i am not bother. I just want to clock the mileage.

It is the usual route as i slowly peddle along, trying to distract myself with singing along those eerie patches. I am practically the only bike on the road. Well today is OCBC cycling and i did saw 1 worker and a few half naked young punks cycling around all the way until after 6am when i spotted more training bike on the road.

Since nothing much to do, i started playing on the gears(front set) at NTU as i trial and error. Surprise that i learn something new again! Just like the
last session! I have learned again. Well that is very good. It is better late than never. :p

3 loops at NTU this morning. It is getting more and more easy with the speed humps nowadays. I think i am ready for any heartbreak hills. :p I just need to ride on them to get a feel of how to negotiate them properly with the right gears. Now i am beginning to understand some of the technical terms they used on biking when dealing with steep climbs.

2 loops at Mandai, + 1 loop at Seletar reservoir...is enough for today.

3 water bottles + 1 100plus(7-11 at upper thomson road), 1 chain dropped(yck road), 1 small detour for buying makan.

Bike off at 10:37am. Total on the speedo 145.1km in 7:02hr. Speedo starts about 8-900 meters after bike off.

Phew! I survived. It doesn't matter on the pace is slow. I clock the mileage as intented which is most important.

I should survive in Port Mac. :p
